Four Decades of Experience
Atkinson Pools began in 1983, when Rex Atkinson started servicing pools across Wild Dunes and the Isle of Palms from a red supply shed and a single pickup truck. Four decades later, the firm remains family-led — managing partners Josh Atkinson, Rex Atkinson, and Ty Tyler, with general manager Martin Summer — and has grown into one of the Lowcountry's most established design-build pool firms.
The practice spans the full life of a watershape: in-house design with 3D visualization, in-house construction crews, renovation of existing pools, and weekly service programs for residential, commercial, and municipal properties. Every project is designed around its site — marsh edge, barrier island, historic district, or master-planned community.

Large residential estates increasingly demand what amenity centers have always required: commercial-grade circulation and filtration, engineered structures, phased construction alongside other trades, and systems built to run continuously for decades.
Atkinson Pools is one of the few Lowcountry firms that operates on both sides of that line. The same in-house team that shapes private marsh-edge pools also delivers community amenity centers and municipal watershapes — including work for Del Webb Retirement Community, Pine Hills Amenity Center, and Seacoast Baptismal.
